Through a series of accessible and thoughtfully designed relief spaces, this thesis challenges the taboo surrounding mental wellness in solving for the absence of a space that encourages cognitive stamina. In addressing our body and mind’s need for relief, or an “escape from the city,” therein lies a space that can be reached daily.
The general atmosphere within the space is thoughtfully curated to help reinforce the intention of working to help strengthen and reset one’s mindset, helping each person who comes through the space to leave feeling motivated and capable to help manage the daily stressors that are inevitable from being a young adult in such a high pace, unpredictable and demanding urban environment.
